We recently completed an impressive full refurbishment of this much sought-after duplex apartment in the heart of London’s Brutalist Barbican Estate.  This bespoke refurbishment smoothly blends modern design with timeless elegance to create a bright and sophisticated home for its owner.

A stylish and welcoming hallway, adorned with a bespoke, tall, wall mirror expertly crafted by Thomson Brothers, along with vibrant and practical rugs, plus a captivating artwork, sets the perfect tone for entry into this beautifully renewed space. The under stairs, custom pull-out drawers designed for shoe storage are both stylish and practical.

The exquisite poured resin flooring is a pleasure to walk on, being smooth, warm and comfortable. The seamless, glossy surface not only adds a touch of sophistication to the whole apartment but also serves as a practical and durable foundation for daily living. The reflective quality of the resin floor creates a sense of spaciousness, enhancing the overall ambiance.

The bedroom is a true sanctuary for rest and relaxation. A beautifully rich-toned, bespoke floating sapele bed, exudes modern simplicity, along with showcasing Thomson Brothers’ meticulous craftsmanship. The concealed pull-out drawer beneath the bed provides a discreet storage solution for linens and extra bedding. With its elegant design, the bed appears to hover effortlessly above the floor. Flanking either side of the bed are two matching bespoke sapele bedside tables. The perfectly polished black glass tops add a layer of refinement, as well as practicality to the overall design. The Thomson Brothers’ bespoke black Valcromat drawer cabinet, gracefully mounted on the wall, complements the custom-built wardrobe and drawers, providing ample storage for clothes.

Smoothly sliding the bathroom door to one side, reveals a sleek sanctuary of luxury. The bespoke rosewood vanity cabinet, with a polished black Himacs top takes centre stage against the large anthracite porcelain tiles. The strategic design features of the bespoke wall cabinets with mirrored doors, along with an inbuilt niche within the large walk-in shower area, give an enhanced sense of spaciousness while providing ample storage. A heated wall with rails ensures that towels are conveniently located within easy reach of the shower.

Leading to the upper floor, our exceptionally skilled French polisher meticulously restored the structurally sound, but age-worn original mahogany staircase to its former glory.

The fully refurbished kitchen exudes sophistication along with functionality. The bespoke wood cabinets, meticulously crafted and finished with a dark, matte anti-fingerprint paint, not only enhances the aesthetic appeal, but also ensures durability and easy maintenance for years to come.  The stunning dark granite work surface provides a spacious food preparation area. Its extension to incorporate a sleek breakfast bar is enhanced by the addition of the two vibrant green high stools. One of the kitchen’s modern conveniences is the Quoker tap. A true marvel of technology, the tap offers filtered, sparkling and hot water instantly. The kitchen has been transformed with luxury materials, thoughtful design and innovative features into a stunning space not just for cooking but also casual dining, drinks with friends and an inspiring space to work from home. 

The main living area has been transformed into a modern and luminous space, featuring a stunning bespoke media cabinet, crafted from rosewood, elegantly floating against the wall. Its integrated handle design adds to the streamlined aesthetic, while providing ample space for the owner’s vinyl collection. The inclusion of this piece provides a sleek focal point.
