Original Railings
We carefully restore the original wood stair treads, railings and coated metal railings found in Barbican properties, preserving their character while enhancing durability. The wooden handrails are meticulously sanded, repaired, and refinished to match their original warmth and grain. Meanwhile, the coated metal railings are stripped, treated, and refinished to restore their sleek appearance while maintaining their protective coating. Our approach ensures these iconic features retain their historical integrity while seamlessly blending with modern interiors.
ORIGINAL HIGH WINDOW OPENING LEVER

Every property on the Barbican Estate features solid Sapele wood window frames with the distinctive rising handle opening system. When required, we strip and revarnish the internal frames to their original condition, preserving the building’s historic character.
